I have chosen to study Spanish, literature and history! The other subjects you can choose from are Exphil. with environmental philosophy and CSR (1, 2 and 3). I am very happy with the subjects I have chosen, and I really could not ask for better professors.

SPANISH
In the beginning of the course you will have to attend a Spanish test, and thereafter you will be divided into two different levels depending on your test result. Each level has Spanish lecture separately, whereas I have level 1 with professor Ana Maria. Lectures are theory classes. The other Spanish class we have, is Spanish Seminars. In the seminars we are divided into groups of 8 students. Seminars are all about practicing your Spanish. We use all class to speak Spanish and to go through our homework. We do get a lot of homework, but it is definitely the key to progress when learning a new language. Sometimes we are asked to write texts and hand them in, sometimes we read texts and other times we do grammatical tasks. We have Spanish lectures twice a week and Spanish seminars four times a week.

HISTORY
Everyone has History together, and it is always very interesting. Our teacher is very clever and enthusiastic, and has both a master and Phd. degree in history. As we are studying history in Argentina, it is all about the Latin-American history. Latin-American history is very different from European history as it is mainly about the Europeans conquering America and how the natives fight for their human rights and freedom. In this subject we only have lectures once a week.

LITERATURE
The literature course is purely based on Spanish-American Literature! So far we have only read historical literature, and it therefore goes very hand in hand with history class. The first weeks we read letters from Cortes (Spanish conquistador) and Las Casas (Spanish missionary) to the king of Spain. Very interesting to see how some wrote the truth about America, while others added a lot of fiction! This week we are reading letters by heroes from the wars of independence of South America. These texts are more philosophic! Professor Paula and Jose have chosen really fascinating texts, and that makes all the difference in the world! In this subject we have lectures once a week and seminars once a week! This subject is highly recommended!
